# Deckwright

> Write Markdown, get an accessible slide deck — charts, diagrams, PDF, HTML and PowerPoint. Deckwright turns Markdown into clean slides: headings become slide titles, lists become bullets, CSV becomes charts and a few lines of text become flowcharts, sequence diagrams and mind maps. Present with speaker notes, a timer and a second window, check contrast, titles and alt text, and export a PDF with embedded fonts, a single-file HTML presentation or an editable PowerPoint file — all in your browser.

Deckwright (Slide deck studio) is an app of usefulweb.app (https://usefulweb.app/): a full program that runs in the browser. Its engine is deterministic and the same functions are exposed as tools, so an agent can compute exactly what the app shows.

## Formats

- Export: PDF (vector, embedded font subsets), Single-file HTML presentation, PowerPoint (.pptx), PNG (current slide), SVG (current slide), Markdown (.md), Deckwright project (.deckwright.json), Share link without notes and images

## Limits
- One font weight: bold text and links are shown in the accent colour in the PDF and PNG; HTML and PowerPoint keep real bold and italic.
- Code blocks use the proportional slide font in the PDF and PNG (monospaced in HTML and PowerPoint), and long code lines are cut, not wrapped.
- Charts and diagrams are pictures in the PowerPoint file, not editable PowerPoint charts; the PPTX does not embed fonts.
- Chinese, Japanese and Korean fonts cover everyday characters (GB 2312, JIS X 0208 and KS X 1001 level 1); rarer characters fall back to a basic font in the PDF and are reported.
- Images from web addresses are not downloaded; add image files instead. Animations, transitions, video and audio are not supported.
- Hebrew has no embedded font yet: Hebrew text is laid out right to left but prints with a basic fallback font in the PDF.
