Tutorial 5 of 6
Export to PDF, HTML and PowerPoint
Beginner 4 min
Choose the right file for printing, sharing and editing — and what each export keeps.
One deck, several files. The Export menu has all of them; each is made in your browser.
PDF — for printing and sending
Export → PDF (or Download PDF, Ctrl+E). The PDF has one page per slide, real text you can select and search, embedded Noto fonts (also for Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Japanese and Korean) and clickable links. Charts and diagrams are vector drawings, sharp at any zoom.
Use it for e-mail, printing handouts and uploading to event sites.
HTML — one file that presents itself
Export → Single-file HTML presentation gives one .html file that works offline in any browser. It contains:
- every slide as a picture with its text as real headings, lists and tables underneath, so screen readers and search work;
- Data behind the chart as a table under each chart;
- your speaker notes, collapsed;
- a present mode: press P (or the Present button), arrow keys move on,
Escstops.
The file loads nothing from the internet and carries its own security policy, so you can send it as an attachment.
PowerPoint — for editing elsewhere
Export → PowerPoint (.pptx) writes an editable file for PowerPoint, Keynote, LibreOffice Impress or Google Slides. Titles are real slide titles, bullets keep their levels, tables are tables, notes go into the notes pane. Charts and diagrams become sharp pictures with your description as alternative text.
If Noto Sans is not installed, the program uses a similar font and lines may wrap differently.
Single slides and the source
- This slide as PNG — a picture of the current slide, for chat or social posts.
- This slide as SVG — a vector file for further design work.
- File → Download Markdown — your text, with inserted images packed into the file.
Keep the project
File → Save project file saves a .deckwright.json with the text and the images. Open it later with File → Open project or Markdown file…, on any computer. Bundlekeep backups include your decks saved in this browser.
